Leap Ahead, Not Back

Five years ago I was introduced to a book called The Big Leap: Conquer Your Hidden Fear and Take Life to the Next Level by New York Times bestselling author Gay Hendricks. At that time I was exhausted from ten years of caretaking for my son and going through a divorce. On top of that, I had just started my coaching practice offering individual coaching, workshops for small groups, and speaking at events. I am often asked to speak at recovery events as well as gatherings for parents who have children on the autism spectrum. I loved my new coaching business, but felt stagnated. I knew I needed to figure out what to do next and elevate to the next level. I was looking for action steps and the key to why I was so tired and uninspired. I picked up The Big Leap thinking it would be just another business book. What I got was literally a spiritual transformation.

The Big Leap is a small book with a big message.

The Big Leap helped me to realize that my way of thinking needed an overhaul. I had resistance, inner conflict, and was actually fighting myself. No wonder I was exhausted! I didn’t know I was unable to accept joy because of my fundamental beliefs. My lack of self worth kept me from feeling like I deserved it. At the same time, knew I had an important story to tell. This book helped me to identify my core conflicts. I was unconsciously keeping myself hidden due to this conflicting belief. Once I identified what had been keeping me back a whole new world opened for me. Ultimately leading me to identify what Hendricks refers to as my zone of genius.

Since reading The Big Leap I‘ve been able to explore the source of my limiting beliefs to allow healing. I have started practicing thought patterns that move me toward a profound life. I have faced my hidden fear and am now speaking on larger stages. This new way of thinking has impacted me so much thatI have I incorporated it into my individualized coaching programs. I have  shared these concepts with many others who struggle with limiting beliefs and it has worked for them too. What I hoped would give me some good tips to succeed in business ended up giving me spiritual tools and the ability to grow skills that continue to help me take my life to the next level. The concepts of this book are so well explained that I believe everyone should give themselves the gift of reading it.

If you’re in a place where you want more and feel you can’t figure out the secret to getting more, I recommend reading this book. Stay open. Allow yourself to receive. You deserve to conquer your fears and take your life to the next level. You can take the big leap. Know that I’m here for you when you need additional support.
